The International Association for the Plant Protection Sciences (IAPPS) is an association of plant protection specialists dedicated to the promotion of global IPM. The association is structured through eight world-wide Regional Network Centers. A Governing Board member from each of the regions serves as the Network Coordinator. The major objectives of the Association are (1) to provide for the organization, management, and oversight of the International Plant Protection Congresses (IPPCs) as international fora for integrating and disseminating crop protection information and technology, and (2) to sponsor a plant protection journal that features articles on integrated pest management research and extension (Crop Protection).
Each of the ten annual issues of the Crop Protection journal contains an issue of the IAPPS Newsletter edited by Dr. M. Tamo, IITA, Benin. The Secretary General's Newsletter, which is posted on the web ten times annually, is targeted to IAPPS members and is designed to promote communication and IPM networking among members (see the website http://plantprotection.org for more information on IAPPS).
To become a member of IAPPS go to the website and click on "Membership Applications and Renewals" and proceed to complete the form and pay with a credit card or send a check in the name of IAPPS on a U.S. bank to the Secretary General, IAPPS, Dept. of Entomology, University of Nebraska, P.O. Box 830816, Lincoln, NE USA 68583-0816.
