Faculty award winners include Dr. Fred Baxendale, winner of the Entomological Society of America Distinguished Achievement Award in Extension and Dr. Tiffany Heng-Moss, winner of the Entomological Society of America Distinguished Achievement Award in Teaching. Student award winners include Neil Spomer, winner of the Jeffery P. LaFage Graduate Student Research Award, and Laura Campbell and Mitch Stamm, runners-up for the President's Prize for a paper presentation.

Blair's pictureBessey professorships are awarded to scholars who have demonstrated an exceptional record of distinguished scholarship and creative activity. Their work reflects the highest levels of achievement, quality, and importance. Charles Bessey, an NU professor at the turn of the 20th century, was a botanist and educator. Recognized for his pioneering science, including among other interests the ecology of the prairie, he served as president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and editor of Science magazine. Congratulations Blair!
