Educational Exhibit
The Nebraska State Fair features educational exhibits of bees, beekeeping and hive products. The educational exhibit includes live bees in observation hives and a plexiglass booth containing a free-flying colony. Members of the Nebraska Beekeepers Association staff the exhibit to answer questions and daily demonstrations of a beekeeper opening a colony are scheduled.
Displays of hive products and information about pollination are also included in the educational exhibit. Teachers can sign up to have a beekeeper visit their classroom, and visitors can sign up to receive information about beginning beekeeping classes. The State Fair is also a great place to join the Nebraska Beekeepers Association and be part of the fun.
