Honey of An Apricot Coffee Cake
Laura Hynek - Lincoln

Ingredients
DOUGH:
3 Cups flour
1 Teaspoon salt
¼ Cup honey
1 Cup warm milk
¼ Cup soft margarine
2 Teaspoons yeast
FILLING:
1 Cup candied orange slices (chopped)
½ Cup margarine
½ Cup apricot preserves
½ Cup honey
2/3 Cup sliced almonds
Instructions

Place all ingredients for dough in bread maker and place cycle on dough. Let run through cycle; while dough is on cycle, make the filling.

Place the candied orange slices, margarine, honey and preserves in a saucepan and cook on medium heat, stirring to dissolve candy. Let cool. Sprinkle almonds over filling.

After dough has run through cycle, take from container and divide in half. Reserve ½ cup dough. Place dough in a greased 9" round pan and press to cover bottom and up the edge. Pour half of the prepared filling in the dough.

Roll out the reserved dough and cut into strips. Make a lattice over the mixture. Do the same with the other half of dough.

Let rise until doubled. Place in preheated 350° F oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or till golden brown.

Melt 2 squares of vanilla bark and drizzle over if desired.
