Appointment:
Education:
Professional Responsibilities and Activities: Research: Develop improved insect management strategies for arthropod pests of small grains and specialty crops grown in the Nebraska Panhandle. Emphasis is on determining aspects of biology and ecology that are relevant to pest status and management and developing integrated management strategies that will allow economic control of pests, while reducing the overall impact of management tactics on the environment. Areas of research emphasis include:
Extension: Develop educational programs that provide the knowledge and experience necessary to implement integrated management strategies for arthropod pests of agronomic importance to crops grown in the Nebraska Panhandle. Crop emphasis is on winter wheat, sugar beets, dry beans, sunflowers, rangeland, corn and other alternative or specialty crops. Also includes focus on cooperative programming with surrounding states in the high plains (Colorado, Wyoming, Montana; see http://www.highplainsipm.org). Refereed Publications Barrigossi, J. A.
