  • Professor and Curator in the University of Nebraska State Museum, responsible for a collection of ca. 2 million specimens.
  • Specialist in the taxonomy, biology, ecology, phylogeny, and biogeography of scarab beetles.
  • Conducted research and collected in the Neotropics annually for the past 40 years.

 

Awards and Honors:
  • 1980 National Academy of Sciences. Selected for one month scientific exchange with the German Democratic Republic as part of the NAS East European-USSR Scientific Exchange Program.
  • 1981 Society of Economic Paleontologists and Mineralogists. Received Outstanding Paper of the Year Award.
