Banks Grass Mite

Description:
Banks grass mites pigmentation extends along the entire length of the body. Banks grass mites appear narrower and slightly flatter than two-spotted spider mites.

Damage Symptoms:
Banks grass mite populations tend to start at the bottom of a plant and move up.

Incidence:
Banks grass mites often appear earlier than two-spotted spider mites.

Sampling Scheme:
Same as for two-spotted spider mites.

Economic Threshold:
For Banks grass mite only. One lower leaf yellowing and colonies present up to the ear zone.
