Corn Blotch Leafminer

Description:Larvae are legless maggots, pale green to yellow-white about ¼ inch long at maturity.
Damage Symptoms:Larvae tunnel within corn leaves, consuming all the green tissue between the upper and lower leaf surface. Mines widen as the larva grows, resulting in a broad blotch in the last third to half of the mine.
Incidence:At least 3 generations per year occur in Nebraska; leaf mines may be seen on whorl stage corn, as well as on corn in August.
