Insecticides for Control of Head-Clipper Weevils in Sunflower

Updated May 5, 2006 by Gary Hein and John Thomas

Economic Threshold:
Damage from this insect is nearly always limited to field margins, and treatment is seldom justified. Consider insecticide treatment if more than 50% of the plants examined have weevils present and head-clipping exceeds 5% across the field.

This list is not inclusive. See http://www.greenbook.net or other resources for additional registrations.
