Insecticides for Control of Mites in Wheat

Updated May 4, 2006 by Gary Hein and John Thomas

Chemical control of the wheat curl mite is not effective in reducing mites or virus infections.
Infestations of winter grain mite, Banks grass mite, or brown wheat mite are seldom serious enough to warrant chemical control.
Infestations are often the result of drought stress, and they are likely to be reduced by significant rainfall.
