Entomology Hall Renovations - April 9, 2009

We have three concurrent projects underway; remodeling, reroofing, and alarm system installation.

Mechanical work is ahead of schedule except for building a concrete pad for the air handler in the attic. A special, vibration damping concrete mix is needed.

Plumbing work is almost done. Plus an outside contractor needs to seal the penetrations with a 1 hour fire retardant caulking.

The air handling system is scheduled to ship on May 8.

On May 21, reroofing will begin but this needs to be coordinated with the remodeling work.

There is still some question whether we have sufficient the electrical capacity to operate the autoclave we want to move from the Beadle Center. Stay tuned.

CIT’s dish antenna on the roof blew over in the recent windstorm! It is probably damaged beyond repair.
