Insect Pests in the Urban Environment
Three out of four Nebraskans live in a city of 2,500 or more
(48% of Nebraska's population is located in five urban counties). Insects and spiders adversely affecting human habitat and health are addressed through the Urban Insect Pest Management (UPM) program; with the goal of developing effective, economical, environmentally sound, and socially acceptable management solutions. Through excellent support from UNL-IANR administration, the Urban Pest Management Team has been formed to provide leadership in this area.
