Professional profile and summary of achievements
Shripat T. Kamble is a Professor of Entomology and State Liaison of National Agricultural Pesticide Impact Assessment Program (NAPIAP) and IR-4 Program (minor use of pesticides) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has been a member of Entomological Society of America (ESA) since 1969 and a Board Certified Entomologist(BCE or ARPE) member since 1976. His research emphasis in urban entomology has been the fate of termiticides, human exposure to insecticides, insecticide resistance mechanisms, baiting technology, and biocontrol. Kamble has authored over 80 papers (refereed, extension, and others), organized 15 symposia, participated in 91 scientific presentations, and has received more than 1.5 million in research and extension grants. He has co-chaired the national conference on urban entomology and twice chaired the North Central Region IR-4 program. Since 1982, he has served the ESA's BCE-MidAmerica group as director at large for government affairs, auditor, liaison representative for public affairs, secretary treasurer, and president. At the national BCE level, he has served on the professional maintenance & certification board for urban and industrial entomology, and as chair of the examination committee. Kamble was the recipient of the 1995 national ESA Distinguished Service Award for Board Certification Program. His other awards include: 1992 Outstanding Entomologist (BCE MidAmerica), 1994 NCB-ESA Recognition Award in Urban Entomology, 1996 IR-4 Meritorious Service Award, 1996 University of Nebraska's Excellence in Team Programming for Urban Pest Management Award, 1997 University of Nebraska's Excellence in Team Programming for NUFACTS, and 1998 NCB-ESA Award of Merit.
