Creating your proposal

What is a proposal?
The proposal is a 2-3 page document which specifies the details of your MS project.
Specifically, it includes:

  1. A statement regarding the goal of the project.
  2. Background information that explains any previous work and the rationale of the project.
  3. What you are going to do, how you will do it, and when you will do it (including a proposed timeline of MS project completion).
  4. A list of project outcomes, and how these will be documented in your portfolio.
Proposals are due within the first 5 weeks of the course. They should be created electronically and saved as a Microsoft Word document.

Completed proposals should be sent to:

Dr. Tom Weissling, Distance Education Coordinator
email address: ent-distance@unlnotes.unl.edu
subject line: Your Full Name, MS Degree Project Proposal

Proposals will be evaluated by the course instructors. Feedback on proposals will be sent to students via email two weeks after the proposal due date. In some cases revisions to the proposal will be necessary with resubmission for further evaluation.
