Hello! My name is Abigail Loudon and I am from Des Moines, Iowa. This is a picture with my boyfriend at the Nebraska-Minnesota football game in Minneapolis last year (2015). This year (2016) we will be going to the Nebraska-Oregon football game in Lincoln. Needless to say, he thinks I chose the right school to continue my education :)
I currently work at Syngenta Seeds in Slater, Iowa as a research associate in the genotyping department. I have liked the topic of entomology since my junior year as an undergrad student. My professor really got me to like it. It's just so interesting to learn about the complex life styles of these tiny creatures. I am not sure what I want to do with this degree some day; I thought about staying in the agriculture world. Or I could start my own outreach program and teach children and adults all I know about insects. I do believe I want to have an apiary someday, but I am still deathly afraid of bees (I know, I am weird).
My hobbies include gardening, canning, cooking, and biking. We have a cat named Max and he keeps me pretty busy as well.
