Order Siphonaptera
Fleas are small, wingless (still pterygotes!), insects that can be
easily recognized by being bilaterally flattened and possessing
large
hind coxae. Although the larvae are rather free-living, the adults
obtain their nourishment from warm-blooded animals and feed with
piercing-sucking mouthparts.
