Program immerses high schoolers in agriculture and natural resources

Entomology Alumna and Extension Urban Entomologist, Kait Chapman, was one of the instructors in the LPS-CASNR Early College and Career STEM program.  Approximately 700 freshmen and sophomores from Lincoln Northeast High School visited UNL East Campus to take part in the program. 

Students were able to see their math and science classes using a hands-on approach. They investigated insects crawling in flour, made irrigation systems, and put together Do-It-Yourself hydroponic kits.
