Why did you choose the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I chose the University of Nebraska-Lincoln because I really enjoyed the campus and was impressed with the current insect science program.

Why did you decide to major in Insect Science? What is your favorite thing about this major?

When I was 8 years old, I attended a 4-H camp where a UNL extension worker introduced me to entomology and insect collecting. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for studying insects, which ultimately led me to major in Insect Science. My favorite aspect of this major is the opportunity to work closely with something I love, conducting research that has a huge impact.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?

My favorite class I have taken so far is ENTO 116. This class involved collecting insects to create a collection and learning to identify certain nomenclature and classification of insects and other arthropods which I found fascinating.

Are you involved in any clubs/organizations at UNL?

I am involved in the Insect Science Club at UNL.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I plan on attending graduate school and pursuing both my master’s and Ph.D. in Entomology.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time I enjoy lifting, hanging out with my friends, and surfing.
