Please welcome Dr. Cetin Mutlu, from Harran University in Sanliurfa, Turkey. He recently arrived in Lincoln as a visiting scholar and will collaborate on a joint federal project over the next year.
Dr. Georgina Bingham, primary investigator for the project, said this project involves faculty at Kansas State University (KSU), Arkansas State, and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) on phosphine resistance in red flour beetles across the Midwest.
Mutlu is an entomologist and associate professor at the Department of Plant Protection in the Faculty of Agriculture at Harran University specializing in agricultural pest management. Dr. Mutlu's primary research focuses on field crop pests, including their ecology, interactions with natural enemies, and the economic impact of these pests on agriculture. His expertise extends to integrated pest management (IPM), biological control methods, and the management of storage grain pests. Through his work, Dr. Mutlu contributes to the development of sustainable agriculture by promoting environmentally friendly pest management strategies.
He obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Plant Protection at Mustafa Kemal University, and his B.S. from the Field Crops Department at Dicle University.
