About the Lab

The Western Nebraska Crop IPM Entomology Lab, Led by Dr. Pin-Chu Lai, focuses on research in applied ecology, arthropod pest biology and management in major crops in the central high plains including sugar beets, dry beans, winter wheat, sunflower, corn, and alfalfa. Our mission is to develop effective pest management practices to support sustainable agriculture. We aim to better understand the interactions among arthropod pests, biological control agents, crops, and the environment in agroecosystems under the constantly changing climate and technology. Additionally, we share new knowledge and updated information on pest management with growers and Ag industry stakeholders through multiple extension outlets.
