The Department of Entomology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) is seeking a highly motivated scientist specializing in arthropod vector biology and/or ecology related to transmission of plant pathogens. 

The Department of Entomology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) is seeking applications for an arthropod vectors of plant pathogens position at the rank of assistant professor. This 9-month (academic year), tenure-track appointment will specialize in arthropod vector biology and/or ecology related to transmission of plant pathogens. The apportionment is 80% research and 20% teaching. This position will be located in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Minimum Qualifications include:

  • Ph.D. in Entomology or a related discipline.
  • Strong training and experience with modern approaches to the study of biology and/or ecology of plant-vector-pathogen interactions. Areas of preferred experiences include plant/arthropod anatomy/physiology, molecular biology, plant pathogen assay techniques, and rearing of arthropod colonies.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including the ability to publish in quality peer‐reviewed journals.
